Jazz at the Merchants House (JATMH) hosts monthly Sunday evening concerts in the historic Merchants Hall in the Merchants House of Glasgow featuring fantastic musicians from Glasgow, Scotland and beyond. Here I’ve included some of the publicity materials I produced when I first started working for JATMH. Each artist/ensemble would have a unique design inspired by either the theme of the event or by the instrument they play.

With Laura’s flyer I was inspired by the red, white and blue of the American flag, with the stars representing the legendary composers featured in her set: Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin… true stars of their era.

For Atlantic Road Trip, I found this fabulous image of a toy car with suitcase on the roof on unsplash.com (by Karine Germain Joh). I loved the playfulness of the photo and how the blue of the car popped out from the grey stone.

There’s a TV screen in the window next to the entrance of the Merchants House so I elongate each design to fit within the dimensions of 1080×1920 pixels.
